Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess Of York, visited Bunbury in November 2024 and I was lucky enough to meet her! The Duchess was just so lovely and took her time to speak with each and every person that lined up to meet her (some queued for over 2 hours!). Of course I had to buy myself a couple of her books which she personally signed for me. I can't wait to finish reading "A Woman Of Intrigue", I am really enjoying it!
Did you know that Sarah Ferguson has written over 50 books, including those for children, adult readers and auto biographies. You might know of "Budgie The Little Helicopter", a delightful children's book which has also been made into a TV series. I admire Sarah for her resilience and her ability to really make a difference in the world by supporting a variety of charities including Motor Neurone Disease and Prevent Breast Cancer, amongst many others. Her kindness to others is truly inspiring!
I wanted to give The Duchess a gift to say thank you for visiting our beautiful beachside city of Bunbury. Can you guess what? Yes - it was a scarf! I carefully chose a scarf I thought would match her hair and skin tone, and of course it had to be a silk scarf from my new Kirsten Katz collection. I wrapped this gorgeous silk scarf in pink tissue paper, tied it with a bright pink ribbon and included a little thank you note - I am sure she deserved it after a very busy visit!
This is the gorgeous Bush Banksia Scarf Silk Scarf that I gifted The Duchess Of York - isn't it just fabulous! Made from a silk and cotton blend it feels so lovely to touch and is light enough to wear in the warmer months for a little bit of pizzaz and style. It features the stunning "Bush Banksia" design by Australian artist Kirsten Katz in the most loveliest of colour tones.
